SLAM DUNK THE JUNK - Quamir Payton - Gordon Parks Academy - East Orange, NJ. Mayor Robert L. Bowser of East Orange has long been an advocate for the environment. His administration has helped to promote clean and green projects for years. The program administered by Knayda O Kelly, teachers, and East Orange Board of Education has produced environmental ambassadors at every school level. Quamir Payton is one of those outstanding student ambassador. He spoke the phrase "Slam Dunk The Junk" in early 2007 as he placed discarded trash into an receptacle. He is now the environmental ambassador for East Orange & state of New Jersey for the year 2009. On June 19, 2009 the NJ Clean Communities launched its campaign "Slam Dunk The Junk". The Harlem Wizards & Quamir Payton initiated the campaign. Quamir has a very important message.
